Biography

Best known for his unique style of Tabla Solo presentation, Amit has been entertaining for the last three decades. His signature style has become synonymous with a diverse collection of rhythmic patterns and plethora of breathtaking compositions on Tabla. He started learning Tabla in his childhood from Pandit Bachan Pathak and later from 'Padma Bhushan' Pandit Samta Prasad.

Amit is a highly qualified IT Professional who works with Oracle Corporation. He is an alumnus of institutions like BIT, ICFAI, IIT, IIM, ISB and HBS. Besides, he is an internationally acclaimed Tabla Player and one of the finest exponents of 'Banaras Gharana'. ​He holds Masters from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh and Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad.

He is an ingenious sololist and an elegant accompanist. He brings inventiveness in his performance. His deep understanding of music, rigorous practice, improvisation and artistic brilliance makes him an effortless recitalist. His Tabla recital can be described as, ‘elegance-personified’. He has performed in countries like Lebanon, Singapore, Germany, Qatar, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Egypt, UAE, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, and Mauritius.
